Political File –

If a request for political time was made, the station must indicate what the station did in response to the request, whether it was accepted or rejected, and if accepted, the date and time the message aired, the class of time, and the name of the candidate and any authorized committee on behalf of the candidate. If free time was provided for by the station on behalf of such candidates, has a record of the free time that was provided been placed into the file? The FCC acknowledged in their Report & Order in January 2000 creating the LPFM Service, that LPFM stations cannot broadcast political advertisements, and cannot charge a fee for political advertisements. However, LPFM broadcasters must provide reasonable access to candidates and that access must be free of charge.

Reports are retained for two years.

To date, no candidate or authorized committee have requested political time.
